RUGB - that's The Race Up Great Britain to us. In April 2009 we're doubling the cycle challenge by cycling a 1000 mile route from Lands End to John O'Groats. There'll be no relay here so we'll all be cycling the full 1000 miles together, but at least we'll get a chance to sleep during the 10 day ride, unlike what we'll be experiencing in the RAAM.
FEBRUARY UPDATE: The RUGB is now the RDGB. We're switching the direction of our ride. We'll now be doing John O'Graots to Land's End. We're mainly doing this for logistical reasons as we are entered in a cycle race in cornwall a day or so after we finish our GB ride. Besides, we reckon it will be easier going downhill rather than with the prevailing winds. |
